Summer Fun

There hasn't been much time for sewing or knitting lately. Here's what I have been up to instead!

It was +90 degrees in Chicago last week when we went to Millennium Park to see Ray LaMontagne. It was packed but once the sun went down, it was great. It was a great show and nights like these remind me of why I love Chicago.

After the concert, we had to enjoy the Crown Fountain...
This weekend, we went to Madison for a party and to catch up with some friends...and see democracy in action (with yarn bombing!!)
Hopefully soon I can return with some crafty news!

Baby Quilt Round Up - Part 3

And last up (for now) is a quilt for Carissa's baby girl. This quilt is for a little lady in Venice, CA so I tried to capture the relaxed vintage feel that I get when I visit Carissa in Venice. Back to the park!

This one was just sent off in the mail last week.

Baby Quilt Round Up - Part 2

Next up is Marty's baby boy quilt.  I forgot to do a photo shoot after it was totally complete. Also, it was winter so the park was being used for different activities...
So here's some action shots when I was completing the binding...

Being born in the winter in Chicago means you need fun colors!

Baby Quilt Round-up - Part 1

I have been in high baby quilt production mode the last few years as several of my close friends have had babies recently. I have captured a few on camera but unfortunately let a few go before capturing them.

First up is Meghan's quilt. They weren't sure if it was going to be a boy or girl so I tried to keep it gender neutral. I was inspired by this quilt: http://www.filminthefridge.com/2010/07/20/far-far-away-2-quilt-with-the-registered-holsteins/
I try to take my finished quilts on a adventure to the park next to my house before sending them off to their new owners.

Meghan had a little girl and to me this now looks like such a girls quilt!
